Chamath Palihapitiya is a Sri Lankan-born Canadian and American venture capitalist, engineer, SPAC sponsor, founder and CEO of Social Capital. He is also a Democrat donor who is beginning to see the light.
In the brief clip, he began by confessing that he voted for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016 and then for President Joe Biden in 2020.
Nonetheless, the billionaire co-host had glowing words for Trump.
“Every other president found a way to, frankly, make our situation a little bit worse, specifically around wars. He did not do that. And that is a huge accomplishment that I think needs to be acknowledged,” Palihapitiya said.
The co-host then described himself as a “Democrat” now “left homeless” and “definitely in the center but probably leaning increasingly right.”
He expressed “appreciation, despite the messenger, of the message of the Trump administration.”
Palihapitiya cited the Abraham Accords and other Middle East peace initiatives as “just a real example for the world.”

In hindsight, these Abraham Accords, the accords with Israel and the GCC, the almost accord between Israel and Saudi, to really be able to find a long-lasting peace. He’s just a real example for the world. And those guys did a lot of really great work.”

Listen, I’m no fan of Trump, but if you objectively look at what they did, it was great work.” Chamath then asks if ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ is causing more damage than President Trump, with the left and the media’s bias against the messenger overshadowing the importance of the message?
@Chamath: “I think the answer is yes… So much of the work that happened in that administration turned out to have been right… The work on the border wall, we didn’t like the messenger. So, we killed the message. Turned out it was right. Issuing long-term debt to refinance when rates were at zero. We didn’t like the messenger, so we killed the message. A structural peace deal in the Middle East. We didn’t like the messenger, so we killed the message… When are we going to actually take the time to look past who was saying things and actually listen to them word for word? …If you listen to this
